Cells Flashcards
Have a nucleus and complex organelles and plant an animal cells contains organelles
Eukaryotic cells
Does not have any nucleus and has bacteria cells
Prokaryotic cells
Specific functions that they empty throughout the cell little organ
Organelles
A large central membrane bound organelle which contains DNA and eukaryotic cells In eukaryotic cells and protects DNA
Nucleus
A porous membrane in cases, the nucleus protects nucleus and allows RNA to leave the nucleus
Nuclear envelope
A dense structure contained within the nucleus and its responsible for making ribosomes and inside the nucleus
Nucleolus
A tunnel like network of membrane it’s connected to the nucleus and branches into the cytoplasm of all eukaryotic cells. Smooth ER free of ribosomes rough ER contains ribosomes.
Endoplasmic reticulum
A membrane bound organelle, which processes and packages proteins and it’s found in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells, also known as the post office
Golgi body and apparatus
Vesicles that contain powerful digestive enzymes, they breakdown old cells and fight off invading bacteria
Lysosomes
a unique double membrane bound organelle which contains its own DNA also known as eves DNA
Mitochondria
Central vacuole of plant cells, stores, water, and nutrients, small vacuoles animals cells that do not store water or nutrients store waste they both aid and cellular digestion
Vacuoles
Small membrane, bound sacks in the transport various items around the cell
Vesicles
a network of protein fibers which helped the organelles in cell move and assist in cell division it maintains cell shape
Cytoskeleton
small tubular structures made up of protein, filaments part of the cytoskeleton help move proteins in vesicles throughout the cell
microtubules
Nine triplets of microtubules found in animal cells only assist during the nuclear division
Centrioles
