What is an organism
A
A living thing that has an organized structure. Can adapt and reproduce.
e.g. Animals or plants.

What are cells
A
Building blocks that make up all living things and fundamental structure + functional unit of life. Organisms can be unicellular or multicellular. They contain something called organelles.

Function of an organelle
A
small structures within a cell that that have particular jobs and function together to keep organism alive.

Do cells come from pre- existing cells?
A
yes, do not spontaneously generate, form from existing cells

Viruses
A
These contain no cells meaning they are non-living. No organelles and require host cell to reproduce. (systemic)
