Cells Flashcards
1What are the 4 properties that animal and plant cells both share?
A nucleus (it contains genes) | A cytoplasm (where reactions happen) | A cell membrane (controls what goes in and out) | Mitochondria (Aerobic respiration to release energy)
What are the 3 properties that only plant cells have?
A cell wall (for structure and support) | A vacuole ( storage) |
A Chloroplast (photosynthesis)
Name 5 specialised cells.
Ciliated Epithelial, Root hair Cell, Nerve Cell, Sperm Cell, Red blood cell
What are their adaptations?
Ciliated Epithelial > Has cilia (small hairs) on top to move harmful/ unwanted particles
Root hair Cell > Long outgrowth to take in lots of water
Nerve Cell > Long to carry messages
Sperm Cell > Tail to swim
Red blood Cell > It doesn’t have nucleus for more space for oxygen
