Cells Flashcards
Name 3 parts of the plant cell which animals don’t have.
Cell wall, vacuole and chloroplasts.
What does the nucleus do?
Controls what the cell does.
What is the cytoplasm?
It’s a jelly-like substance in which most chemical reactions happen.
What is the purpose of the cell membrane?
It holds the cell together and also controls what goes in and out.
What takes place in the mitochondria?
Most of the reactions for aerobic respiration.
What does the cell wall do?
Gives support to the cell. This is why plants don’t need skeletons.
What is the vacuole filled with?
Cell sap, a weak solution of salts and sugars.
Why are chloroplasts important?
They contain chlorophyll which is used for photosynthesis.
Put these thing in order of what is made up of what, starting with tissue.
Tissue, organ system, organism, organ.
Tissue, organ, organ system, organism.
Diffusion is when a substance moves from…..
…… an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
