Cell Worksheet Flashcards
Differentiate between –
Plant cell and animal cell (plastid).
Plant cells have plastids, animals cells don’t have.
Diff b/w Prokaryotes and eukaryotes (example).
Bacteria, cyanobacteria are prokaryotes, animals
and plants are eukaryotes.
diff b/w Cell wall and cell membrane (composition).
Cell wall is composed of cellulose and cell
membrane is composed of lipoprotein.
diff b/w Leucoplast and chromoplast (function).
Leucoplast stores starch and chromoplast gives colour to fruits and flowers to attract insects, animals and birds for pollination.
diff b/w Nucleus and nucleoid (occurrence).
Nucleus is present in eukaryotes and nucleoid is present
in prokaryotes.
Scientist who discovered a cell.
Robert Hooke
Two non-living parts of a cell.
Vacuole and granule
Freely permeable covering of a plant cell.
Cell wall
The plastid involved in conversion of a green tomato to red.
Chromoplast and pigment
carotene
Hereditary units present in the chromosomes.
Genes
Protein factory of the cell.
Ribosome
An organelle with double membrane.
Mitochondria/chloroplast
An organelle present in prokaryotes.
Ribosome
Colourless plastid.
Leucoplast
An organelle which contains pigment anthocyanin.
Vacuole
The number of chromosomes present in humans.
46
The structure which synthesizes ribosome.
Nucleolus
The structure from which spindle fibres develop during cell division.
Centrosome
A semi-liquid substance of the cell, in which organelles are suspended.
Cytoplasm
The membrane of vacuoles.
Tonoplast
The living matter of a cell, constituting the cytoplasm and the nucleus.
Protoplasm
An organelle which has its own DNA.
An organelle which has its own DNA.
