Aim To demonstrate the Transpiration phenomena with the bell jar method.

  1. Bell jar, well watered potted plant, rubber sheath, glass plate, vaseline
  2. Water drops appear on inner walls of bell jar containing potted plant.
  3. As the pot was covered with a rubber sheet it can be concluded that the droplets occurred due to Transpiration from aerial parts of the plant and not due to evaporation of water from the soil.
