A

A cell is the most basic unit of life.

All living things are made up of at least one cell. Organisms with only one cell are called unicellular. Organisms made up of many cells are called multicellular. Large animals such as elephants can have trillions of cells.

All cells come from cells that already exist. This occurs through cell division – when a cell divides into two new cells
