Cell Theory Flashcards
What is a cell?
Smallest structural and functional unit that can perform life functions.
Which types of cells are Eukaryotic cells?
Plant cells, Red Blood cells, Fibroblasts and Neurons.
What are membrane proteins and what is their function?
Channel and transporters. Receptors. Structural Proteins. Enzymes. They do everything!
What is the role of Cholesterol?
Structural part of membrane within the phospholipid bilayers.
Outer limit of the cell.
Communication.
Anchor Cytoskeleton (structural protein)
Regulates what enters and exits the cell.
What is one of the main functional components of a cell?
Semi-Permeable. Not all molecules can move through it freely.
What are the main structural components of a cell?
Plasma membrane
Cytoplasm (Cytosol, organelles)
Nucleus
What are the 3 fiber types of the Cytoskeleton?
Microfilaments | Actin Filaments
Microtubules
Intermediate Filaments
