cell terms Flashcards
plasma(cell) membrane
forms cells surface regulates what goes in and out of cell looks like the cell wall
cytosol
fluid portion of cytoplasm
cytoplasm
consists of all contents between plasma membrane and nucleus contains cytosol and organelles
organelles
within the cytosol contains cytoskeleton, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosomes, mitochondria, and more
ribosomes
small circles mostly surrounding rough er and nucleus
proteosomes
short cylinder (looks like cup)
endoplasmic reticulum
contains two reticulum smooth and rough
rough er
covers all of bottom nucleus takes up a lot of space looks like maze
smooth er
next to rough er looks like coral reef
golgi apparatus
between rough er and smooth er looks like blob with circles
lysosomes
marble shaped one next to smooth er
peroxisomes
smaller than lysosome not as circular one next to lysosome
mitochondria
sausage shaped many scattered around with maze like insides
cytoskeleton
wire clump like figure inside flagellum
centrosome/centrioles
centrosome is the whole figure centrioles is what makes up the structure looks like broken tech piece with spikes and ridges (next to mitochondria)
