Cell structures and their functions Flashcards
-Describe the function of each of the parts of a cell.
What is a Nucleus?
The nucleus is what controls the cell and contains information called DNA.
What is Cytoplasm?
Cytoplasm is a jelly-like substance which is where chemical reactions that take place in the cell occur.
What is Cell membrane
Cell membrane is what controls the entry and exit of substances into the cell.
What is Cell wall?
Cell wall provides support.
What is vacuole?
Vacuole acts as a storage area and helps provide support.
What is Chloroplast?
Chloroplast contains a green coloured dye and is the place Where plants make their food.
What do all cells have?
A nucleus, cell membrane and cytoplasm.
What additional structures do most plant cell have?
A cell wall, vacuole, Chloroplast.
