A

Proteins are made. Organelles are made and replicated. The cell increases in size.

Why do erythrocytes have a biconcave disc?

A

So that more haemoglobin and mitochondria can fit. Also to increase surface area and maximise diffusion

How are sperm cells adapted for fertilisation?

A

They have a flagellum for movement. Lots of mitochondria for energy. Acrosome has digestive enzymes to allow entry into egg.
