Q

Give an overview of mitosis and the cell cycle

A

Cell cycle - consist of 3 stages. Stage 1 (interphase) DNA duplicates, cell grows, number of organelles increase. Stage 2 (mitosis) chromosomes arrange themselves along the middle of the cell and move to opposite ends, and the nucleus reforms. Stage 3 (cell division / cytokinesis) cytoplasm divides and produces 2 genetically identical daughter cells
