Cell Cycle Flashcards
What happens during telophase?
Nucleolus reappears, nuclear envelope forms, chromosomes un-condense, and spindle fibers break down
What happens during metaphase?
Chromosomes align along the middle of the cell
What happens during anaphase?
Spindle fibers pull chromatids apart, and separate to opposite ends of cell
What happens during prophase?
Chromatin condenses, centrioles migrate to opposite ends of cells, and the nuclear membrane disappears
What are the are the 5 stages of mitosis?
Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, and Cytokinesis
What happens during interphase?
The cell grows and replicates DNA
What happens during cytokinesis?
Cytoplasm divides, cleavage furrow cuts cell in half
