Q

What are the differences in both cells?

A

Plant cell has a cell wall
It is a rigid outer covering that provides structure and protection
A plant cell has a chloroplast, and they’re the location of photosynthesis which allows the plant to convent sunlight into sugar
Plant cells have a large central vacuole and animal cells have small vacuoles
Animals cells has a lysosomes
Plant cells have plastids
Animal cells contains centersomes

Q

What is Urea?

A

Urea is a waste product inside cells. It diffuses out of the cells into the blood plasma and is excreted by the kidneys.

Q

What are the factors that affects diffusion?

A
The concentration gradient
The temperature(The higher the faster the rate of diffusion)
Distance the particles must travel(Faster, when the distance is shorter)
Surface area(Larger surface area)

16
Q

Why do all living things rely on diffusion?

A

All living things rely on diffusion cause;
Getting raw material (Dissolved substances and gases)
Removing waste products (E.g from respiration)
For plant they use it for photosynthesis( Raw material in and waste product out)

17
Q

How does diffusion work in the lungs?

A

Oxygen in inhaled air diffuses through the lungs into the bloodstream. The oxygen is then transported throughout the body.

18
Q

How is Carbon dioxide related to diffusion?

A

Carbon dioxide is the waste gas produced by respiration. Carbon dioxide diffuses from body tissues into the bloodstream is exhaled via the lungs.

19
Q

What is osmosis?

A

Osmosis is the diffusion of water molecules, from a region where the water molecules are in higher concentration, to a region where they are in lower concentration, through a partially permeable membrane. Osmosis refers to the movement of water molecules only.

20
Q

What contains a high concentrated of water?

A

Dilute solutions

21
Q

What contains a low concentration of water

A

Concentrated solutions

22
Q

Cytoplasm

A

Cytoplasm is a gel like substance where most of the chemical reaction occurs.
Cytoplasm of cells is a relatively concentrated solution .It contains a relatively low concentration of water.

23
Q

What happens when osmosis happens to a plant cells?

A

When osmosis happens to plant cells the plant cells will expand, however the cell wall, will prevent it from bursting, the cell will instead become swollen, and this is called turgid.

24
Q

Do osmosis and diffusion requires energy?

A

No they don’t require any energy, as they’re moving down the concentration gradient.
