What is the minimum trade size raceway required for a pull box or junction box?
The minimum trade size raceway shall be the equivalent cable to trade size of raceway for the number and size of conductors in the cable.
This is applicable for Subrule 2).
What is the required distance from the back wall to the cover of a pull box when used with No. 4 AWG or larger conductors?
Not less than the trade diameter of the largest raceway or equivalent cable plus 6 times the diameter of the largest insulated conductor.
This applies when the raceway or cable enters the wall of a box opposite to a removable cover.
What is the minimum length requirement for a pull box used with straight pulls or runs of cable?
At least eight times the trade diameter of the largest raceway or equivalent cable.
This is necessary for straight pulls or runs of cable.
What is the scope of Section 8?
Applies to maximum circuit loading, calculated loads for consumer’s services, feeders, and branch circuits, use of demand factors, branch circuit positions for dwelling units, and heater receptacles for vehicles.
Define ‘Basic load’.
The load of lighting and receptacle circuits, based on the outside dimensions of a specific area of building occupancy, as listed in Table 14.
What is ‘Calculated load’?
The load calculated in accordance with the applicable requirements of this Section.
What does ‘Demonstrated load’ refer to?
Historical maximum demand watt information recorded over at least a 24-month period for the same type of facility, equated to watts per m².
What is an ‘Electric vehicle energy management system’?
A means used to control electric vehicle supply equipment loads through processes like connecting, disconnecting, increasing, or reducing electric power.
List the voltage divisors to be used for current calculations.

- 480
What is the maximum allowable voltage drop in a feeder or branch circuit?
3% in a feeder or branch circuit and 5% from the supply side of the consumer’s service to the point of utilization.
True or False: The calculated load in a circuit may exceed the ampere rating of the circuit.
False.
Define ‘Continuous load’.
A load that persists for more than 1 hour in any 2-hour period or more than 3 hours in any 6-hour period, depending on the load rating.
What must the continuous load not exceed when using a fused switch marked for continuous operation at 100%?
Shall not exceed 100% of the ampacities of conductors selected in accordance with Section 4.
What are the demand factors based on when two or more loads are installed?
The one providing the greatest demand shall be used in determining the calculated demand.
Fill in the blank: The ampacity of conductors of feeders or branch circuits shall be in accordance with the Section(s) dealing with the respective _______.
[equipment being supplied]
What is required for calculations based on demonstrated loads?
Calculations must be performed by a qualified person as determined by the regulatory authority having jurisdiction.
What happens when electric vehicle supply equipment loads are controlled by an electric vehicle energy management system?
The demand load for the electric vehicle supply equipment shall be equal to the maximum load allowed by the electric vehicle energy management system.
What is the maximum continuous load for a fused switch marked for continuous operation at 80%?
Shall not exceed 80% of the ampacities of conductors selected in accordance with Section 4.
List the conditions under which a load of a cyclic or intermittent nature shall be classified as continuous.
- If it meets the requirements of Subrule 3)
