A

An amendment to the construction contract signed by the owner, architect, and contractor authorizing a change in the work, an adjustment in the contract sum or the contract time, or both.

Construction change directive

A

These are issued to compel the Contractor to act in a particular way in the event that there is a disagreement with the Owner regarding time or cost adjustment for some aspect of the work. They are issued to keep construction moving along, with the intention that any disputes will be resolved in the future.

Minor change in work

A

The architect is able to order minor changes in the work, so long as they do not affect project time or budget. These are typically issued as architect’s supplemental instructions, or ASIs, and are signed by the architect alone.
