A

Must be consulted about matters which affect their Health and Safety and Welfare.
Take care of their own H&S and of other.

17
Q

What is a construction phase plan and what does it do?

A

A simple and ideally written plan before work starts to show you have thought about health and safety.
If a job lasts longer than 500 person days or 30 working days (with more than 20 people working at the same time) you must notify HSE and it is likely to be too complex for this simple plan format.

18
Q

What are the minimum welfare facilities required on construction sites?

A
  1. Sanitary conveniences - WC, clean and orderly condition, separate rooms for men and women, and lockable doors.
  2. Washing facilities - suitable for the work being undertaken with clean hot and cold or warm and cold water, which must be running water.
  3. Drinking water - Adequate supply of wholesome drinking water must be provided.
  4. Changing rooms and lockers - if a worker has to wear special clothing or cannot be expected to change elsewhere.
  5. Facilities for rest - with adequate number of tables and seating with backs.
