What functions does Ground Transportation provide?
Administers the DoD Official use program, provides examination and licensing of motor vehicle operations, managed the installation’s pooled vehicle fleet, provided the efficient planning and use of equipment and recourses, and performs preventative maintenance of the pooled vehicle fleet.

What type of training is provided at the apprentice course?
Fundamental-level training.
When do you enter initial qualification training?
Upon arrival at your first duty Staion.
What is the next level you reach after Apprentice, and how do you attain it?
Journeyman, you must qualify and possess the AFSC 2T131.
What are two types of training conducted for journeyman?
On-the-job (OJT) and Career Development Course (CDC).
How many months of OJT are you provided?
Minimum 12 months for Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve; 9 months for retrainees.
When can you enroll in the Career Development Course (CDC)?
After arriving at your first duty station and after graduating from the 3-level course.
Who initiates the recommendation for your to upgrade?
Your supervisor.
What do you do if you witness a GMV being misused?
Report it to your chain of command.
What is vehicle abuse?
Damage caused by neglect or willful acts of improper operation or care.
Who is charged with investigating vehicle abuse and ultimately responsible for a vehicle abuse determination?
Vehicle management.
What guidance should you reference when you have questions about the use of GMV’s?
AFI24-301, DoDM 4500.36, and Title 49 Code Federal Regulations, Transportation.
What is the most dangerous times for daylight driving?
Duck and Dawn.
What is one of the main causes of nighttime accidents?
Overdriving the headlights.
What is another factor that makes night driving hazardous?
Headlight glare.
When driving at night, to prevent temporary blindness, what should you do?
Avoid looking directly into the headlights of oncoming vehicles.
What do you do if an approaching vehicle does not dim its headlights?
Reduce speed and look at the right handed edge of the road or lane marker until the vehicle passes.
How many classes of fire are there?
4, (A. B. C. D. )
What is a Cass A fire, and what do you use on it?
Wood, paper, and rags. Use water or solutions containing water.
What is a Class B fire, and what type of extinguisher do you use on it?
Flammable liquids (gasoline, diesel fuel, solvents, lubricating oil, and grease.) use extinguishers that dilute or eliminate the the air supply.
What is a Class C fire, and what type of extinguisher do you use on it?
Electrical equipment and facilities. Use extinguishers that are nonconductors of electricity.
What is a Class D fire, and what type of extinguisher do you use on it?
Combustible metals, magnesium, titanium, sodium. Use dry powder extinguishers.
What are acceptable materials to use if you have a fire away from GT?
Sand, dirt, water, rags, tarpaulins, and coats.
