Personal Information
Includes your name, address, email address, phone numberm, age, etc.
User Content
Any kind of media - videos, pictures, images, blogs, discussion posts, audio files, etc.- that a user creates and posts
Cookies
Small computer text files are placed into your computer by the sites you visit. Cookies allow websites to “remember” your personal data.
Web Beacon
Tiny graphic image placed on a website in an email that is used to monitor the behavior of the user visiting the site or sending emails. It is often used in combination with cookies.
Third Party
The word “party” is a legal term for an individual or a company. A “third” party is an a=entity other than you or the app/site you visit or use.
Geo-Location
Your physical location. Apps or websites sometimes use information from cellar, Wi-Fi, GPS networks, and Bluetooth to determine a users location.
Ip Address
Internet protocol address (IP address) is the address of your device. All devices connected to the Internet have a unique IP address.
Metadata
Data about other data.
Biometric Info
Data about peoples faces, voices, gestures, and more.
Advertising sponsored content
Many sites and apps run advertisements and sponsored content from companies in order to make money.
Age of use
Online services indicate the minimum age that a user must be in order to legally sign up for and use the site/app
Conduct
Most sites and apps require that the users act in a certain manner when they use their service.
License
These are the rights that the users give an app or site in order to use its service.
Algorithm
A list of instructions for completing a task or solvling problems.
Online Targeting
To aim content or ads to an internet user that matches their online interests and activities.
Filter Bubble
The intellectual isolation that can occur when websites make use of algorithms to selectively assum information a user wants to see.
Creative Work
Any original artistic creation.
Copyright
An important law that gives the owner of a creative work the right to determine how other people use it.

A symbol, or word(s) that is legally registered or established by use as representing a company or pro

An agreement that allows someone to copy, use, share, or resell your work.
Piracy
Illegally reproducing, using, or sharing content on the Internet.
Plagiarism
Taking someone else’s work or ideas and passing them off as your own.
Public Domain
Works no longer registered by copyright and don not require permission to use (95 years).
Fair use
Permits a party to use copyrighted work without the copyright owner’s permission for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
Mashup
Something created by combining elements from 2 or more sources.
Remix
A creative work that has been altered from its original state by adding, removing, and/or changing pieces of the item.
