CCMCP Analgesia - Intubated patient
Refer to post intubation sedation protocol
CCMCP Analgesia - No risk of hypotension medications
Fentanyl 0.5-1mcg/kg prn Or Morphine 0.1mg/kg prn With/without: Ketamine 0.2mg/kg prn Consider: Versed 0.05mg/kg q 5-10 prn to single max of 5mg
CCMCP Analgesia - risk of hypotension fluid challenge
Adult - 500ml bolus to maintain MAP 65
Paediatric - 10ml/kg - maintain normotension for age group
CCMCP Analgesia - risk of hypotension medications
Fentanyl - 0.5-1mcg/kg prn
With/without:
Ketamine - 0.2mg/kg prn
CCMCP Analgesia - Narcotic induced nausea Tx
Dimenhydrinate 1 mg/kg to single max of 50mg
CCMCP Analgesia - Significant ketamine induced behavioural disturbances and hemodynamically stable Tx
Midazolam 0.05mg/kg q 5-10 min prn to single max of 5mg
CCMCP Analgesia - Dimenhydrinate EMS contraindications
Hypersensitivity to dimenhydrinate, diphenhydramine or propylene glycol
Narrow angle glaucoma
Patients who had invested large quantities of depressants
CCMCP Analgesia - Dimenhydrinate preffered antiemetic for?
Motion sickness
Vertigo
CCMCP Analgesia - Fentanyl EMS contraindications
Hypersensitivity
MAOI use within 14 days
CCMCP Analgesia - Fentanyl precautions
Myasthenia gravis
CCMCP Analgesia - Dimenhydrinate dose
1 mg/kg to single max of 50mg
No repeat dose

Hypersensitivity
Conditions where elevating blood pressure could be dangerous
CCMCP Analgesia - Ketamine precautions
Can induce hypersalivation and tracheobrachial secretions have suction available
Can cause transient increases in HR and BP
