What is conflict?
Conflict is a state of discord or disagreement causes by the actual or perceived opposition of needs, values and interests between people
It is often a result of opposing views and negative feelings between disputants. This can be from a disagreement, or clash, which may consist of harsh words, or may involve the use of force, arm conflict or war

What is Identity?
A sense of belonging to a group/area where there is the same generic character, or a sameness of distinguishing character or personality
This may be determined by ethnicity, language and religion. It can be evident on a number of scales; nationalism, regionalism or localism
What is ethnicity?
Refers to the grouping of people according to their origins or characteristics
- It has been broadened to refer to groups of people classed according to one or more of common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic or cultural origins or backgrounds
What is culture?
Refers to the customary beliefs, social norms and t+rais of a racial, religious or social group and to the set of shared attitudes, values and practices that characterise that group
What are resources?
Resources can refer to items such as water, land, minerals or territory.
Conflict can occur where there is a dispute as to who does have or should have authority over those things
What is Ideology?
Refers to a set of ideas/a systematic body of concepts regarding human life or culture
