How do you transition to AM mode?
Arrive at platform
Complete platform work … steady Blue
MCH in COAST
Turn switch to AM
How do you transition out of AM mode to CS?
Arrive at platform
Wait for doors to release
Prioritise ….
MCH to Max Brake
Turn switch to CS
What do you do if in AM mode you get an EB or FSB applied on the train?
Check Message log
Come to a stop
Contact TC and report
Contact SSCC and follow instructions/get permission to move
If EB has applied and you can’t see next signal?
SSCC will instruct you to transition to RM
They will issue an APA
Max Brake - OJT Panel - Press RM button
With permission to reset EB you can go at max 25 to next signal.
If EB has applied and you can see signal?
SSCC will instruct you to transition to CS mode. Signal will go to proceed.
With permission proceed until Comms is regained
When running within CBTC area in CS mode and comms resumes what do you do?
Don’t need to contact SSCC
Stop train
MCH to COAST and turn switch to AM
What do you do if you don’t have a SKIP command at a station you are suppose to be running express through?
Train will attempt to stop so transition to SM and power through station.
Contact SSCC and inform that SKIP was not applied
What do yo do if you get an unexpected SKIP command?
Obey the SKIP
Contact SSCC and enquire
What do you do if your train Undershoots a platform in AM?
Make a PA
Transition to SM to move up
What do you do if running in AM mode the train stops outside berthing window but all doors are on platform
Make PA and depart immediately … unless:
Between 22:00-05:00
Not safe to leave doors closed
What do yo do if the train overshoots a platform in AM?
Make a PA that the doors can’t be opened
Depart immediately
Contact TC and inform
What do you do if running in AM mode and you have a movement authority that will take you past an illuminated signal?
Stop train before signal if you can and get Signal no.
Contact SSCC and report signal illuminated
When will you receive a transmitted APA?
To pass a fixed signal at STOP
To pass a Block Marker Board
To proceed in defined limits of an APA
When will you receive a Dictated APA?
Wrong line move
Approach a disabled train
