Define CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Taking therapy
Aims to reverse the negative triad of patients thoughts, emotions and behaviour related to situations -> by encouraging patients to test their logic by considering evidence or behavioural experiments.
What are the typical thought patterns tackled in CBT?
Negative automatic thoughts
Catastrophising
Over-generalising (failed exam so failed at life)
Categorical (all or nothing)
What is the hot cross bun model related to CBT?
Situation occurs
This triggers thoughts, physical changes, mood and behaviours
All these factors are interlinked - altering one aspect of this can help prevent the chain of events.
Also known as five factor model
