What is the “When Caution”
You do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”

What is the “Restricted Caution”
You do not have to say anything, but anything you do say may be given in evidence.
What is a “Significant Statement”.
A ‘significant’ statement is one which appears capable of being used in evidence against the suspect, in particular. It could be:
•a direct admission of guilt, or
•failure or refusal to answer a question, or
•to answer it satisfactorily;
