Q
IMR & Childhood death in the medical profession: 19-20th century Netherlands
A
Infants born to comparable socioeconomic status had 40-70% increased risk of IMR relative to infants born to a doctor
Presence of timing/curriculum effects: children born to fathers who graduated in 1867 or before had double the death risk in 1st year of life relative to father who graduated in/after 1890. This coincided with technological advancements in the identification of disease.
Doctors income meant less overcrowding and a lower risk of disease
