What is the cause of deindustrialisation?
The failure of closure of an industry, causing industries to move or shut down.
What are some causes of internal migration?
- > Rural to Urban Migration for better jobs and services and QoL.
- > Commuter/Dormitory Settlements
- > Retirement Migration
- > Studentification/Gentrification
What are some causes of international migration?
- > Push factors such as war, lack of FDI etc…
- > Pull factors such as more industries, more job opportunities, better health care, no war.
What is a cause of decentralisation?
The places where industries are deindustrialised as the industries fail. People move out as they don’t have a good chance of making a lot of money. Land value is too high population.
What are some causes of e-commerce?
- > Convenient and Efficient
- > Easier for businesses to set up.
- > Advances in technology
- > Globalisation of companies
What is the cause of regeneration?
Due to the fact that nobody wants to live there, deindustrialisation occurs, meaning the place becomes kind of a wasteland.

Social and cultural factors such as:
- > Family Structure
- > Rapid Job Growth
- > Lack of Housing
- > Traffic congestion causing pollution
What are some causes of studentification?
Caused by wider and often unrelated events such as economic and social trends in a country as well as government policies.

Money from foreign TNCs provides many resources, a good labour force, cheap land/working costs, well-built infrastructure and connectivity.
What are some causes of regional inequality?
More investment in one area than another, the difference in development and affordability.
What are some reasons why sustainable strategies are required?
Pollution and other environmental problems can cause businesses and governments to lead research into sustainable strategies?
What are some causes of UK/EU regional funding?
The area is derelict, with no shops/jobs/housing and doesn’t contribute to the economy.
What are some causes of counter-urbanisation?
Congestion in the city, house prices are more expensive, more crime, services are expensive, very touristy, improvements in commuting, decentralisation
