March from rural district, gathering slaves along the way, and then to enter Cape Town seizing the Amsterdam Battery, turn the guns on the castle and then negotiate a peace - free state and freedom for slaves

They convinced the farmers wife to hand over their slaves to the “military party” , even charmed her into supplying them with good meal and a place to rest

What went wrong with the uprising
It was hard to keep 300 marching mutinous slaves and servants a secret, news soon reach Governor of the Cape. He ordered infantry and cavalry to lay in wait for the insurrectionists at Salt River.
What were the consequences of the uprising
326 were captured, 47 put on trial
including the leadership of the group nine found guilty of treason sentenced to be hanged including Louis and James, another 11 sentenced to death for active participation. Many others given lesser sentences and imprisoned on Robben Island
