OMNIPOTENCE
The all-powerful, almighty and unlimited nature of God.
ATONEMENT
The belief that Jesus’ death and resurrection healed the division between humans and God, allowing them to be ‘at one’ again.
RESURRECTION
The belief that Jesus rose from the dead. It is celebrated annually on Easter Sunday.
OMNIBENEVOLENCE
The state of being all-loving and infinitely good. Catholic’s refer to God as being omnibenevolent.
DIVINE COMMAND
The belief that something is right because God commands it. For example, murder is always wrong.
SACRAMENTS
An outward, visible sign of inward, invisible grace. There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Church.
TRINITY
The 3 persons of God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
AGAPÉ
A selfless, unconditional love. Jesus showed agape love when he died on the cross. Christians are cakes to show this love to all people.
MASS
The name given by Catholic’s to the service of the Eucharist. Catholic’s are expected to attend Mass at least once a week.
INCARNATION
Meaning ‘made flesh’. This is the Christian belief that God became man in the person of Jesus Christ.
INTERFAITH DIALOGUE
Different faith groups coming together to better understand each other. For example, Christians and Muslims working together to raise money for charity.
IMAGO DEI
‘In the image of God’. The belief that human beings are made uniquely as a reflection of God’s personhood.
