define Human Rights
the fundamental rights that are considered to belong to every person regardless of race, gender, age, nationality or religion
define civil rights
give example
provides oppurtinity to each person to lead civilised social lives
eg: right to life, liberty, and equality (racial discrimination)
define Cultural Rights
give example
rights of people from certain cultures to enjoy their culture/religion
eg: profess & practise their religion, use their language in public too
define Positive Rights
(nautre of the rights)
the freedoms to something; where the gov. should take action in favour of us
eg: rights to education and healthcare
define Negative Rights
(nature of rights)
freedoms from something; where the gov. protects our negative freedoms through the punishment of those who threaten our freedoms
eg: freedom from discrimination
define Expressed rights
rights that are clearly and explicitly outlined in Australias contsitution
