1. Don’t fit patients into remedies you are familiar with
2. Don’t over emphasize mental or emotional symptoms
3. Don’t waste too much time letting pt talk about things not related to their health
4. Other than CC (ask several times throughout the case) fears, dreams, ROS, childhood. Spend most time inquiring about words & phrases the pt used to relate to their complaint
