India is a former brush use colony in south east Asia . It is bordered by 6contries including Pakistan Bangladesh and china .
India is the 7th largest country in land area and has a population of 1.3 billion
India is a member of many associates such as the United Nations and common wealth.
Due to its central location in the Indian Ocean it aims to become a hub of transport communication and trade within its wider region .
India is motivated by the rapid development of other emerging nations in the region such as Malaysia and Indonesia
What is India’s social and religious composition
India is culturally diverse and has around 1500 different languages and dialects
Society is divided into social ranks known as ‘castes’ ( your caste is something determined at birth depending on the social status of ur parents)
India has no official religion however 80% of the population are Muslim and 13% Hindu
What is the structure of India’s government and states
India is a parliamentary democracy. It’s constitution guarantees the basic rights of religion caste sex or place of birth .
It’s divided into 29 states and 7 territories. More than 50% of India’s population lives inn6 of the states which shoes the uneven population distribution .
Most developed states are generally in the north west ( deli ) and west and south ( gujrat , maharashtra)
