A client comes to you after having been told that surgery is necessary to bring about a healing. This was confirmed by a second doctor. The client, however, wants you to treat for a complete healing by mental/spiritual means.
Spiritual principle: Wholeness, Well-being
Questions:
- What does it feel like to be completely healed by spiritual means and without surgery?
- Why doesn’t the doctors’ recommendation for surgery resonate with you?
- Is it possible a spiritual healing can also come through the work of surgeons? Ernest Holmes spoke about a pill and a prayer. Meaning the Mind can manifest healing in the form of a medical intervention.
Mary comes to you asking that you treat for her to get pregnant. She and her husband have a doctor’s assurance they are in good health, but they have not been able to conceive. They both desperately want family.
Spiritual principle: Abundance, Life
Questions:
- What does it feel like to be pregnant?
- What does it feel like to have a baby?
- What does it feel like to nurture, care and love for a child?
- How are you demonstrating nurturing, caring and love in your life?
John is 78 and has been told he has prostate cancer. He is in pain, and in a great deal of fear that the cancer will spread into other areas of his body. He wants you to treat for complete healing.
Spiritual principle: Wholeness and Faith
Questions:
- What does it feel like to be completely healed?
- What is your pain telling you?
- Where in your body do you feel less than whole and healthy?
- What are those areas telling you?
Peter is suffering from burnout. He has been a hospice worker for many years. He feels good about his service, but he has no energy for continuing. He wants you to treat for renewed energy.
Spiritual principle: Life force, Abundance
Questions:
- What does it feel like to have renewed energy?
- You told me you feel good about your work, is that in all areas of your work or are there things you do that feel draining?
- If there are things that are draining you,
- What are those things?
- How do they make you feel?
- Do you feel the drain in a particular place in your body?
- When you talk about feeling good about your work,
- What are those things?
- How do they make you feel?
Susan comes to you asking that you treat for releasing her fear of heights. Her new job is on the 20th floor of an office building, and she is nervous all day long
Spiritual principle: Freedom, Joy
Questions:
- What is the scariest thing about being high off the ground?
- Do you feel the fear in a particular place in your body?
- Do you think your fear of heights is trying to tell you something? If so, what is the message?
Bill wants you to treat that he has no more losses. His car was stolen last week, his billfold was stolen this week, and he is afraid of losing his job next.
Spiritual principle: Abundance
Questions:
- What is the worst part of having your stuff stolen or losing your job?
- Where do you think your ‘stuff’ comes from? What brings it into your life?
- Do you think there is any message in your stuff getting stolen or taken away from you?
Mary wants you to treat for her father. He has agreed to treatment. He recently retired, and his health and mental attitude have declined ever since. Now, he sits in deep depression, showing no interest in anything.
Spiritual principle: Love
Questions:
- First, I would tell Mary I’m happy to treat her father for his depression, but it’s his depression and I need to work with him directly. And if she would like to have a treatment for herself I’m happy to do that too.
- If Mary wants a treatment,
- What do you want from your father no longer being depressed or disinterested in life?
John wants you to treat for his blood pressure to go down. He tells you that he is very lonely since the death of his wife of 50 years. He is afraid of what will happen to him if he doesn’t get better.
Spiritual principle: One with Source, Love
Questions:
- What is the scariest thing that will happen if your blood pressure doesn’t get better?
- Where in your body do you feel the loneliness for your wife?
- What do you think wants to be healed?
A mother and teenage daughter come to you for help. The daughter is a senior in high school and pregnant. The mother wants her to have an abortion, but the daughter wants to have the baby. The mother really wants you to convince the daughter to have the abortion.
Spiritual principle: Love, Harmony, Wisdom
Questions:
- To the mother: Let her know I am not able to convince anyone of anything, but am able to create a safe space, and to know the best and highest good for all involved.
- To the mother: What is your concern or fear about your daughter having the baby?
- To the daughter: What will it feel like to have a baby?
John is in serious condition suffering with AIDS. He wants the freedom to die, and feels guilty that he contracted AIDS.
Spiritual principle: Love, Freedom, Harmony,
Questions:
- What is the story your guilt tells you?
- If someone who loves you were to tell you the story of how you contracted the HIV virus, what would they say?
- What needs to be healed or revealed so you can feel free?
Mary has been told she has three months to live. She has inoperable cancer. She wants to live, and is asking you for treatment.
Spiritual principle: Life force, Love, Freedom, Joy
Questions:
- Is there a particular place in your body where the dis-ease is, and if so if it could talk what would it tell you?
- What does it feel like to be alive?
- Do you believe life is only in your body? Is there life after the body dies?
Jane comes to you about her mother who is hovering between life and death following surgery. Jane is obsessed with fear that her mother will not recover, and she wants you to treat for her complete healing.
Spiritual principle: Love, Peace
Questions:
- First, I would ask Jane if she understands I can only Treat a person who directly requests it, but what I can do is Treat for the best and highest good of everyone involved.
- What is the story your Fear is telling you?
- What is the scariest part of your mother being sick?
- Imagine you are sitting with your inner wisdom, what is your wisdom telling you?
