ABG: pCO2 6.1, lactate 2.9, base deficit -3.9

How would you manage him?

How would you manage him if he continues to deteriorate despite treatment?

A

ABCDE approach: Oxygen, ax chest expansion, fluids
Bloods (FBC, CRP, U&E etc)
ABG
CXR
Antibiotics - co-amoxiclav + atypical cover (CURB >3)

Worried if lactate >4, base deficit
