In an area where one means of egress branches off of the main means of egress, would the branch need a door or barrier?

NFPA 101 Ch. 18/19.2.1 states Every corridor or exit discharge shall be in accordance with Ch. 7 (We). Ch. 7.1.3.1 states exit access corridors shall be separated from other parts of the building in accordance with Ch. 8.3 (We). Ch. 8.3 highlights the fire barrier standards.

The exit egress corridor must have a door to separate it from the new branch. Its design and function must be designed in accordance with Ch. 7 Ch. 8 Ch. 18/19 & The occupancy designation.
