Responds within 72 hours to low dose prednisone
About 1/3 associated with temporal arteritis

Large vessel vasculitis New onset of headaches in pts over 55 May/may not have swelling and/or tenderness of temporal artery Jaw claudication can be present High ESR characteristic Emergency because can go blind very fast Tx with prednisone
