Q
How does acute limb ischemia present differently to chronic critical limb ischemia?
A
Chronic critical limb ischemia = Rest pain, tissue loss, contralateral pulse loss, no neurological deficit.
Acute limb ischemia = 6Ps, especially neuro features, no tissue loss, contralateral pulses present.
2
Q
How is acute limb ischemia managed?
A
Open surgery (embolectomy/ bypass) vs. endovascular thrombolysis Likely to need fasciotomies
3
Q
Fasciotomy
