What is an ABPI used for?

A
An ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) is an investigation for stable peripheral arterial disease. A value of < 0.9 indicates intermittent claudication and < 0.5 indicates critical limb ischaemia. It is not the first-line investigation of choice for acute limb ischaemia.
