What are the Functions
of Connective Tissue:

A
  • Provides support, strength, protection, insulation and metabolites.
  • Highly vascular and has a good nerve supply (except cartilage and tendons).
  • Supplies nutrients, O2 and removes waste from the tissues (blood vessels).
  • It has a ground substance with a flexible matrix.
  • Fibroblasts produce fibres i.e Collagen, elastic and reticular
