CardPharm Flashcards
HF Tx
Beta blockers, ACEi, ARBs + neprilysin inhib : Sacubitril-Valsartan
Sacubitril
Neprilysin inhib + AT II blocker
- Neprilysin : metalloprotease breaks down ANP n BNP

Antianginal drugs dec HR
- Beta-blockers
2. Non-DHP
Antianginal drugs dec Preload
Venodilation
- Nitrates/ Nitroglycerin
- Nitroprusside (a+v)
- Nesiritide (AL+PL)
Drugs dec Afterload
Arterial dilation
- DHP: Amlodipine , Nifedipine
- Nitroprusside (a+v)
- Hydralazine
- Milrinone
- Nesiritide (AL+PL)
- Beta-blockers
Nitrates/Nitroglycerin MOA:
SE:
Direct smooth muscle relaxation:
- VENOdilation of periph (= Inc peripheral venous capacitance)
- Dec preload (dec LVEDV+LVEDP. dec LV systolic wall stress + dec myocardial O2 demand - inc exercise tolerance :: relieves angina )
- Mod dec in AL, d/t dec SBP
- Mild coronary artery dilation
— headache, flushing, hypotension, reflex tachycardia (d/t dec BP : prevent by co-adm beta-blockers)
— rapid tolerance to Nitrates : relieved by nitrate-free pd each night
Tx Septic shock
Pressor drugs : Phenylephrine
Drug causing peripheral vasoconstriction, inc SVR, inc BP
Pressor: Phenylephrine
Tx: Septic shock
DI AV conduction delay
Antianginals:
- CCBs
- Beta-blockers: Metoprolol, Propranolol
