Cardiovascular system Flashcards
Name the 3 layers of veins and arteries
tunica inferia
tunica media
tunica adventitia
What does the pulmonary vein do?
carries o2 from the lungs to the left atria
what does the pulmonary artery do?
transports Do2 blood from the right atria to the lungs
what does the superior vena cava do?
carries Do2 blood from the head, neck, upper limbs to the right atria
what does the inferior vena cava do?
carries Do2 from the thorax, abdomen, pelvis and lower limbs to the right atria
abdominal aorta?
Inferior phrenic celiac trunk middle supra renal superior mesenteric renal gonadal inferior mesenteric lumbar median sacral common iliac
upper limb arteries?
Subclavian A+V axillary A+V cephalic vein Brachial artery Radius artery Ulna artery
Lower limb arteries?
External iliac A+V femoral artery long sephenous vein popliteal artery short saphenous artery
layers from the epicardium of the heart ..EPPF
Epicardium
pericardial
parietal
fiborous
Where is the AV bicuspid valve?
left atria and left ventricle
Where it the AV tricuspid valve?
right atria and ventricle
where is the pulmonary semi lunar valve?
right ventricle and pulmonary trunk
where is the aortic semi lunar?
left ventricle and ascending aorta
Right cardiac cycle
Blood from vena cava enters right atrium
blood through tricuspid valve to ventricle
atrium contracts
verntricles contract and blood through pulmonary valve
blood through pulmonary arteries to lungs
pressure increase in ventricles, so tricuspid valve closes
ventricular diastole
atria fills with blood
Left cardiac cycle
blood enters atria via pulmonary vein flow through bicuspid valve to ventricle atrial systole so blood into ventricle ventricle systole, opens aortic valve blood through ascending aorta atria relax bicuspid valve closes ventricular distole aorta valve closes
