Q

What 3 factors regulate SV?

A

Degree of stretch in heart before it contracts (Frank-Starling law), forcefulness of contraction of individual ventricular muscle fibres, pressure required to eject blood from ventricles

Q

What do baroreceptors do + where are they located?

A

Send impulses to CV centre to regulate BP - aorta, internal carotid arteries, other large parties in neck + chest

8
Q

What do chemoreceptors do + where are they located?

A

Monitor blood levels of o2/co2/H+ + CV centre responds by increasing sympathetic stimulation of arteries + veins -> vasoconstriction + increase BP - 2 carotid bodies in common carotid arteries + in aortic body in aorta arch
