Cardiopulmonary Flashcards
What the the TLC?
total lung capacity is the sum of all lung volumes about 6L.
What is vital capacity?
All the air that you are able to breath out voluntarily. about 75% of lung volume. This leaves RV in the lungs
What is RV in lungs?
it is the residual volumes left over when all the air is expelled voluntarily. It is about 25% of total lung volume.
What is inspiratory capacity?
The amount you can inspire after a normal exhalation. It is about 60 percent of total lung volume.
What is tidal volume?
The amount of air in and out with normal breathing.
What is inspiratory reserve volume?
The amount of air you can inspire after normal tidal inhalation. about 50 percent of total lung volume.
What is expiratory reserve volume?
The amount of air you can expire after normal tidal exhalation. it is about 15% of total lung volume.
What is functional residual volume?
The amount of air left in the lungs after normal exhalation. It is about 40% of total lung volume
