What happens in dilated cardiomyopathy
A
Usually all the chambers are dilated and ventricular function is impaired.

A
Any pathological insult to the myocardium apart from Ischeamia and valvular disease

Heart disease (narrowing of coronary arteries) Badly controlled high blood pressure

What is the aetiology of dilated cardiomyopathy?

Genetic and familial (SCNASA gene, Muscular dystrophy)
Inflammation, infections, auto immune disease
Post partum
Toxins (alcohol)
injury, cell loss, scar replacement
