  • MC cardiomyopathy
  • HF symptoms; rales; tachycardia; cough, increased JVP
  • Systolic dysfunction–>ventricular dilation–>dilated/weakened heart
  • MC idiopathic
  • TX: HF tx–>ACEI, diruetics, etc.

  • Sx: R sided HF sxs, tachyarrythmias, increased JVP w/ inspiration
  • Impaired diastolic dysfunction w/preserved contractility–> ventricular rigidity impedes filling
  • Symptomatic tx
