Triglyceride >20 - URGENT referral
Triglyceride 10-20 - repeat bloods in 5-14 days, if repeat level >10 then refer
(Note excess alcohol, poorly controlled BMs can affect result)
Primary prevention target lipid level
> 40% reduction in non-HDL
Secondary prevention target lipid level
Non-HDL <2.6 or
LDL <2
Which diabetic patients should be on statins?
T2DM - use QRISK to decide
Start statin if T1DM +
-Age >40y
-Had diabetes for >10 years
-Comorbid CKD/ other CVD risk factors
At what age does AAA screening start?
Men aged >65years
At what size does AAA get referral to vascular?
5.5cm & over - refer to vascular
4.5-5.4cm - repeat scan in 3m
3-4.4cm - repeat scan in 12m
<3cm - no need for further scan
