Where is the radial pulse found & how do we feel for it?

A

On lateral wrist just proximal to the joint
use 3 fingers

Where is the brachial pulse found/how do we find it?

A

At or up to 2cm above the antecubital fossa, medial to the biceps tendon.

Can use thumb if easier

Where is the carotid found/how do we feel it?

A

In neck medial to SCM

Place index&middle fingers on thuroid cartilage and slide laterally under the SCM

Where is the Femoral Pulse found/ How do we feel for it?

A

Just inferior to inguinal ligament.
Half-way between Ant Sup Iliac Spine & pubic symphysis

Palpate with index and middle fingers while patient is supine
