cardio 265 Flashcards
Left main coronary artery
Apex of the heart
Left circumflex coronary artery(LCX)
supplies lateral and posterior walls of left ventricle, anterolateral papillary muscles
Left Anterior descending artery(LAD)
supplies anterior of interventricular septum, anterolateral papillary muscle, and anterior surface of left ventricle..
coronary artery occlusion most commonly occurs
Posterior descending interventricular artery(PDA)
supplies posterior 1/3 of interventricular septum, posterior walls of ventricles, and posteromedial papillary muscle
Right(acute) marginal artery
supplies right ventricles
SA and AV nodes
are usually supplied by RCA.
infarct may cause nodal dysfunction( bradycardia or heart block)
Left trium
most posterior part of the heart, enlargement can cause dysphagia( due to compression of the esophagus) or hoarseness ( due to compression of the left recurrent laryngeal nerve, a branch of the vagus).
Pericardium consist of 3 layers(from outer to inner)
fibrous pericardium
parietal laters of serous pericardium
visceral layer of serous pericardium
Pericardium cavity lies between parietal and visceral layers
