Safety precautions
Whenever you pick a firearm that has not been in your direct continuous control, the first thing you should do is determine whether or not is it loaded.
Laser rule
Something around that if there was a laser on the muzzle of the weapon, where ever the weapon was pointed the laser would identify that if a shot was fired it would hit that point, treat any weapon you handle like a laser gun with a beam that is always on.
Whatever the beam touches it cuts through. Develop your muzzle consciousness. Just another way of saying point your weapon in a safe direction at all times.
