A rare cardiac manifestation of an advanced neuroendocrine tumor.

What is carcinoid syndrome?
A
A state occurring when a carcinoid tumor metastasizes to the liver, producing lots of hormones.

What is the most common type of primary cardiac tumor?
A
Atrial myxoma - although all forms are very rare.
It is associated with systemic fever and malaise. Complications include a tumor emboli and endocarditis.
