Cardiac System Flashcards
Blood flow through the heart:
I. Superior vena cava
2: inferior vena cava
3: right atrium
4: triscupid value
5: right ventricle
6:pulmonary value
7: pulmonary arteries
8:pulmonary veins
9: left atrium
10: mitral valve
11: left ventricle
12: aortic value
13: aorta
Parts of the heart chamber:
1: atria- mainly blood receiving chambers
2: ventricles- forceful pumps
Right atrium: heart chamber
- Receives blood returning from the body tissues
- lost in oxygen
Right ventricle: heart chamber
- Recieves blood from right atrium
- pumps blood to lungs thru pulmonary artieries
Left atrium: heart chamber
- receives blood from lungs thru pulmonary Veins
Pumps blood into left ventricle
Left Ventricle Heart chamber
Recieves oxygenated blood from the left atrium
Pumps blood to the body thru the aorta
Right AV First valve
Has 3 flaps
Located between right atria and ventricle
Prevents blood from reentering the right atrium
Left AV Valves
Pulmonic valve
Located between right ventricle and pulmonary arteries
Prevents blood from reentering right ventricle
Aortic Valve Valves
Located between left ventricle and aorta
Prevents blood from reentering left ventricle
Bradycardia
Slow heart rhythm.
Tachycardia
Fast heart rate
